Abstract This presentation will focus on the different ways in which consumer research is being used to understand the behavior of web site visitors-and share insights gathered from recent studies to guide, measure and improve web sites. Key points will include: • The strengths, limitations and recommended applications of several research methodologies, including focus groups, usability testing and online surveys; “Case Histories” of recent web research studies; Insights from PRS Eye-Tracking studies, which document what visitors see and what they miss as they view web screens; • Guidelines for gathering feedback from web site visitors; “Principles of Effective Design” that help prevent; navigational and usability problems.
